Lead Occupational Therapist required

Full-time (36 hours per week) Term time only plus two weeks

We are pleased to be able to recruit a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our established team. Queensmill is a local authority specialist school for children and young people with Autism aged 3 – 19 years. We are based in West London (W12) and have a national reputation as a centre of excellence in Autism practice as well as an outstanding rating from Ofsted. At Queensmill School we recognise that our staff are our most valuable resource and therefore invest in a range of training opportunities to support continuing professional development. The role will involve the coordination and provision of a highly specialist Occupational Therapy service to a case load of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional needs attending Queensmill School. You will provide clinical supervision to two Occupational Therapists and an Occupational Therapy Assistant working at Queensmill. There will be opportunities to work with young people at Queensmill School, post-19 provision and Queensmill resource bases attached to mainstream schools as well as outreach work with other schools. As part of this role you will provide Occupational Therapy input individually, in groups and class-based. You will work closely with teachers and parents and will contribute to goal setting, behaviour support plans and annual reviews. You will also take a lead on Occupational Therapy department training sessions provided for staff and parents.

We are looking for a candidate who is:

- A dedicated and passionate HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities and Autism.

- Experienced in providing clinical supervision to other therapists or therapy assistants.

- Keen to make a positive difference to the lives of young people with Autism and their families.

- Qualified in Sensory Integration at a post graduate level.
