We want to appoint exceptional candidates to the role of Senior Social Worker in the Contact and Assessment Service.

The Contact and Assessment team carry out single child and family assessments, initial child protection and court work to safeguard and promote the children in need or at risk. As a Senior Social Worker you will already be an experienced social worker, who practices to consistently high standard and can evidence the ability to manage the most complex cases.

Within the Contact and Assessment Service is the Initial Consultation and Advice Team. This team are the first point of contact for children and families in need of childrens social care services. The team provide in-depth information and form composite views of all contacts relating to children and young people that arrive at Hammersmith. The team work closely with other front-line services in the borough and in close partnership with the police, the Tri Borough Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and key partner agencies to provide a quality and responsive service to residents, partners and stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for providing quality checks, gathering information from various sources, forming recommendations based on a multi-agency risk assessment framework and progressing these accordingly.

A qualified Social Worker; you are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You have experience in dealing with child protection enquiries, completing duty assessments and managing timescales. What’s more, you have in-depth knowledge of delivering children’s services, including a good grasp of the issues and legislation involved.
